A little bit more about me: My name is Nat Tangwiwat. I am a senior at Emma Willard school in Troy, NY, though, I am actually from Bangkok, Thailand (you'll need it) A little glimpse of how this project came into piece (spoiler alert): Last year, as a junior, I was a part of Round Square house. Very very briefly, it was a housing program on campus that exercises skills you would need in order to make a positive world change. Through the program, we once took a trip to Sunhee's - Emma girls' all time favorite place downtown. The place was cute and cozy, the food was A-MAY-ZING, everything was so great that most of us did not bother to check out the "the mission" page on their website. I did. Confounded by their impact on the community, I wondered if there were more businesses like this out there that I never heard of? That was disappointing. And, what if I was not the only person? That was when I decided to start this project. I researched a number of other social enterprises in the capital district and came up with a list. Additionally, I talked to my friend, First, from middle school during summer and decided to explore social enterprises in Bangkok too. She will be joining me in our journey in Bangkok. Check out her Thai website here. Ultimately, I hope this project will tell you a little more than what their price tags, stores, or packagings do.
